The Inverted Full-Back Overload

A full-back steps inside into central midfield in possession rather than overlapping down the line, turning a back four into an extra central body that outnumbers the opponent's midfield.

Building Out From the Back

The center-backs split wide and the goalkeeper steps into the line between them, forming an auxiliary back three that gives every short pass a safe outlet instead of clearing the ball long under pressure.
